“We appreciate the confidence shown in us, and are very pleased with winning the competition for this important contract. Wind power is something we are very happy to build, both for commercial reasons and because we want to contribute to the production of renewable energy in the future,” says Executive Vice President Øivind Larsen of Veidekke Anlegg.
The 31 turbines in the wind farm on the northern part of the Fosen peninsula will have combined installed power of 130 MW and an annual production corresponding to the consumption of 29,300 households (440 GWh). This is the fifth wind power project for Veidekke in Norway alone in recent years.
The infrastructure Veidekke will build in the wind farm comprises the following key components:
- 31 turbine foundations with associated sites for assembly cranes
- Development of 22 kilometres of roads (access roads and internal roads)
- Erection of a service building and a building for a substation
- Cable trenches and laying of the farm’s internal high-voltage grid
The work will be carried out by Veidekke’s construction department in partnership with subsidiary Tore Løkke AS. Construction work will start in April, and is scheduled for completion in October 2021.
