New major project at Karolinska Institut

Veidekke is to build new research facilities at Karolinska Institutet in Huddinge outside Stockholm. This is a turnkey contract valued at SEK 504 million, excluding VAT.

In cooperation with subsidiary Arcona, Veidekke will erect the new 26,000 square metre building for TKV2 Fastighets AB. The project "Neo - Medicinaren 25" is large and challenging, and includes numerous technical installations. The building will be erected next to the hospital's ambulance reception area, which will operate as normal during the construction period, thus posing tough challenges towards logistics and rational, sound operations.

Both Veidekke and Arcona have extensive experience in building research facilities and health care premises. Joint expertise and an involving work methodology in planning and production will ensure optimum design and efficient solutions in close cooperation with the client and users of the building.

"Veidekke and Arcona presented the most advantageous offer at the right price, and have a competent organization with an execution model and logistics solutions we are certain will be capable of managing the challenging location next to the hospital," says HÃ¥kan Karlsson, who is supervising the project for TKV2.

The project is expected to be completed in November 2017.
