“Good and functional health facilities are important to society, and this is an assignment we are proud to build. Here all parties have taken part in developing the project from the start, and this interaction makes me confident that we will deliver a state-of-the-art health facility to the benefit of all inhabitants and employees,” says district manager Ståle Brovold of Veidekke.
The new health building will have a central location in Stjørdal. The building will comprise four storeys and a basement, and will accommodate functions such as ambulance service, emergency room, response centre, outpatient clinic, treatment and rehabilitation wards, canteen and office premises. There will be extensive use of solar panels, and the goal is to certify the health building in accordance with energy class A, passive house and the BREEAM NOR standard at the Very Good level.
“We are very pleased with the collaboration with Veidekke and their consultants, architects and technical group. The entire project planning group, including the contracting client and users, have worked hard as one team from day one and developed the solutions in partnership. We believe that we have found the solutions we were looking for within our budgetary constraints,” says project manager Geir Arne Tronseth with Stjørdal municipality.
Veidekke won the competition for draft and pre-project in March 2018. From April they have developed the project in close collaboration with Stjørdal municipality, users of the health building, consultants, architects and contractors. Detailed design starts in January, with start of construction in April 2019 and completion in December 2020.
