The project includes the foundations and parts of supporting structure for Sickla stationshus. Also included are sections of the escalator shaft and ticket hall of the new Sickla metro station, which will become an important new public transportation hub for transitions between the metro, the rail transit lines Tvärbanan and Saltsjöbanan, and buses. The contract was awarded by Region Stockholm, but has been transferred to Atrium Ljungberg, the developer of Sickla stationshus. Work on Veidekke's part of the project started in March 2020 and is expected to continue into 2022.
“We are very excited to be awarded yet another project for Atrium Ljungberg and Region Stockholm. I am confident that the good relationships we have established in previous projects, together with our strong expertise in construction of complex buildings, will contribute to a successful project,” says Marcus Andersson, regional manager of Veidekke Anläggning Öst.
The contract is included in the first-quarter 2020 order book.
