To build extension for upper secondary school in Stjørdal

Veidekke Entreprenør has been awarded the contract by Nord-Trøndelag county municipality to build a new wing that includes workshop halls connected to Ole Vig upper secondary school in the centre of Stjørdal. The value of the contract is NOK 114 million excluding VAT.

The new wing will be a part of the existing Ole Vig upper secondary school in Stjørdal. The wing includes new workshops with accompanying classrooms and wardrobe facilities for building and construction technology, technology and industrial production, electrical disciplines and design and handicraft. Additionally, a new library and new workplaces for the teachers will be built. The wing will total 5,500 m2 in size.

The project has been developed in collaboration with HUS architects and Nord-Trøndelag county municipality. The project group has been in close dialogue with users, and the new wing will provide a boost for both students and employees at the school.

"We're proud and pleased for the confidence Nord-Trøndelag county municipality has shown Veidekke by allowing us to contribute to develop Ole Vig upper secondary school. Our experience is that we achieve the best results through involving interaction and close dialogue with the county municipality and the users," says Ståle Brovold, district manager of Veidekke Entreprenør in Trondheim.

The work sheds arrived on site before Easter, and the work on demolishing the existing wing has commenced. The new workshop building will be ready for use in August 2017.
