To build sewage treatment plant for Os municipality

Yesterday Veidekke Entreprenør signed a contract to carry out the ground and blasting works for the new main sewage treatment plan in Os municipality. The value of the contract is NOK 112 million excluding VAT.

The contract includes blasting access, a cavern and a discharge tunnel totalling around 100,000 cubic metres of rock. Veidekke will additionally carry out ground works such as earth moving and levelling, and establish infrastructure such as trenches and water and drainage facilities at Ytre Moberg and in Greidalen.

"This is an important project for Veidekke. In the current tough climate it is good to demonstrate that we once again are competitive in everything from major complex transport projects such as the E-39 road, to more basic rock blasting jobs such as this. Dialogue with Os municipality indicates constructive and good cooperation, and we look forward to starting work," says project manager Jostein Veåsen of Veidekke.

Work will commence in October and is slated for completion by February 2017.

The contract is included in Veidekke's order backlog for Q2.
