Veidekke will build three blocks of apartments from five to ten storeys in height with a total of 250 apartments, commercial premises at ground level and underground parking. Nyegaardskvartalet will be Norway's largest environmentally certified residential BREEAM project, and it will also be one of the country's first and largest fossil-free construction projects. Veidekke purchased the site almost four years ago, and has since developed the project, demolished existing commercial buildings and will be responsible for construction.
"By taking a clear environmental stance, we have seen a very good response from the market. Despite the fact that home buyers are selective, this project has been very well recieved. We have already sold 60% of the apartments in the first construction phase, and are ready to present phases two and three for sale in the autumn," says managing director Øyvind Moen of Veidekke Eiendom.
The project has an excellent location in Nydalen/Storo, with all services in the immediate vicinity and a short distance to both the city and its surrounding recreational areas. The apartments have a wide range of sizes and designs. Here you may find everything from small yet spacious apartments on the ground floor with a huge ceiling height of 3.6 metres, to the large apartments with windows at both ends further up.
Construction will start after the summer holidays, and the apartments will be ready for occupation at the 2020/2021 turn of the year.
