Veidekke to build for Framtiden Byggutveckling

Framtiden Byggutveckling has awarded Veidekke the contract to build the second stage of Mandolingatan in Västra Frölunda outside Gothenburg. It is a part of BoStad2021 and will be carried out as a turnkey contract with 130 rental apartments and a contract value of approximately SEK 273 million. Construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 2019.

The stage comprises four new apartment buildings with 130 rental apartments and two commercial premises at ground level. The quarter will also include a seven-storey parking garage with more than 350 parking spaces.

“Veidekke is a new contractor to us and we are looking forward to working with them in a scheme where we establish a cost-effective project in cooperation,” says Anna Runesson, project manager with Framtiden Byggutveckling.

Mandolingatan is a project in the BoStad2021 venture where parallel processes are at work to produce 7,000 extra homes by 2021. This is being done in cooperation with the City of Gothenburg and municipal, private and cooperative construction players. Poseidon will own and manage the completed homes in Mandolingatan.

“We are very pleased and proud that Framtiden Byggutveckling selected us for the assignment and that they appreciate our involving way of working for the best possible collaboration. When we make use of everyone’s knowledge and experience, we can build safely with the highest quality and greater profitability,” says Mattias Bylerius, project manager with Veidekke Bygg Väst.
