Since 2015, Veidekke has blasted and prepared industrial land at its 206,000 m2 property Stora Bysta 3:9 in Snebro. Snebro is centrally located, near the important transport routes E20 and Svealandsbanan, and has in recent years become an attractive location for logistics operations. Creating industrial properties constitutes Veidekke’s business in this area, and the divestment of the property now comes as a natural next step.
The buyer is the Swedish logistics property provider NREP Logicenters. Logicenters wants to initially build about 50,000 m2 of new logistics premises and hopes to be able to double this area in the future.
“We greatly appreciate the collaboration, whereby Veidekke has laid the foundation for what we consider to be a logistics gem with great potential. Logicenters is constantly growing, and is ready for further establishment in the regions immediately surrounding Stockholm. With proximity to both Södertälje and the entire Mälaren region, Nykvarn is superbly located for logistics,” says Matthias Kettelhoit, CEO of Logicenters.
“Mass handling in central regions is a core business for Veidekke's industrial operation. Our strategy is to operate our business from locations which can later be used for property development, and Snebro is a good example of this. As our business in Snebro is now drawing to a close, it is good to know that our site here can take on new value as a logistics property,” says Marcus C. Nilsson, Executive Vice President at Veidekke.
The transaction will give Veidekke a financial gain of approximately NOK 130 million and will be included in Infrastructure Sweden’s profit for the quarter in which the transaction is completed.
