Veidekke has been awarded the contract by Borås Energi to lay pipes, among other things, for a new power plant south of Borås in south-west Sweden. The contract is a collaborative turnkey contract valued at approx. SEK 400 million excluding VAT.
Veidekke will build a new power plant, treatment plant and extension, and adapt the existing biogas plant. Additionally, Veidekke will carry out groundwork and lay pipes for drainage water, drinking water and district heating. The project is being built in connection with the waste plant at Sobacken, seven kilometres south of Borås.
"It is with great satisfaction that we will undertake this project in collaboration with Veidekke, which is a competent partner that emphasizes the environment, relations and economy," says CEO Gunnar Peters of Borås Energi.
"We are very pleased to have won this contract with the requirements Borås Energi og Miljø imposed with regard to economy, organization and experience from similar large and complex projects. This is a collaborative contract, which is something we support very strongly as it imposes high demands on the involvement of all parties in the project," says regional manager Peter Svenningsson with Veidekke Anläggning.
Planning work starts immediately, and the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2018.
